The TK Lady Trojans opened up conference play tonight against East Grand Rapids. TK opened the game putting a lot of pressure on EGR and keeping them on their heels. With some great goal keeping and solid defense TK was unable to find the back of the net in the first half.
The second half opened up with EGR putting the pressure on the trojans and getting a 1-0 lead at the 8:23 mark. That seemed to spark the trojans and light a fire under them. TK began putting a lot of pressure on EGR and saw many opportunities to to find their equalizer. Ellie Adams found some space and attacked it into EGR’s defensive third. She found the feet of Carmen Beemer to turned to find Kiah Nichols. Kiah Played the ball across the net to Ainsley Oliver to put it in to tie the game.
From there the trojans continued to put the pressure on EGR and it was Kiah Nichols again who found space and drove into the EGR defense. She dished the ball off to Monica Bluhm who put a move on a defender and found the net for the game winner.
TK moves to 3-1 on the season and 1-0 in conference. TK’s next game is Monday at home at 6:45pm vs. Grand Rapids Christian.
