The ladies tennis team finished fourth in the O-K Gold tournament following three teams ranked in the top five in the state. The Trojans took fourth place by holding all of their seeds at the tournament. We also added a few unexpected points when Brooke Thompson upset the fourth seed from Grand Rapids Christian. Taylor Myers and Kylee Vreeland also upset a very good Wayland team.

The team showed some great balance when scoring team points with the singles gathering 16 points. The doubles teams then added another 16 to reach a very good total of 32 on the day.

All four singles players finished 4th. First and third doubles finished 5th. Second doubles finished 4th. Daisy Nowinsky and Kristen Cuison finished in 2nd place at their fourth doubles flight.

3. SINGLES – RACHEL CHESNUTT DEF. WYOMING 6-0, 6-0, LOST TO THE ONE AND TWO SEEDS.

4. SINGLES – BROOKE THOMPSON DEF. GRAND RAPIDS CHRISTIAN 6-3, 6-2, LOST TO THE ONE AND TWO SEEDS.

1. DOUBLES – TAYLOR MYERS AND KYLEE VREELAND LOST TO THE 4 SEED IN THREE SETS. DEFEATED A VERY GOOD WAYLAND TEAM 6-2, 6-3.

2. DOUBLES – HOLLY BASHORE AND CALEIGH ZOET DEF. WAYLAND 6-0, 6-1. LOST TO THE ONE AND THREE SEEDS.

3. DOUBLES – NANCY HOOGWERF AND JOSIE THOMPSON LOST TO THE FOUR SEED AND DEFEATED SOUTH CHRISTIAN 6-4, 6-4.

4TH DOUBLES – KRISTINA CUISON AND DAISY NOWINSKY HAD THE BEST FINISH FOR THE TROJANS. THEY DEF. SOUTH CHRISTIAN 6-2, 6-2 AND FOREST HILLS EASTERN 6-1, 6-0 BEFORE FALLING TO THE ONE SEED FROM EGR IN THE FINALS.
