The trojans traveled to South Christian on what would turn out to be a cool evening. In a battle in what has been the top two teams in the OK Gold the past 6 years, this game would not disappoint. The first half the trojans found themselves on their heels with South putting a lot of pressure on them. With some great defense from the back line in Savannah Bronkema, Kassidy Niles, Corissa King & Ellie Adams the trojans remained strong. With some great help off the bench from Elizabeth Meyering, Julia Curtis and Sydney Coffman the trojans were able to keep the sailors scoreless at halftime.

In the second half it was the trojans turn to put some pressure on the Sailors. With some formation changes the trojans found themselves on the offensive end much more than on the defensive end. They found themselves getting many great opportunities to score. It was great defending by the sailors that would keep the trojans out of the net.

After controlling the first 15 minutes of the 2nd half it was a counter attack that lead to the loan goal for the sailors. A ball played from the right side to the left made it’s ways through the sailor strikers along with defenders for the trojans without being touched. The ball fell at the feet of a sailor at the top of the 18 and with 2 touches a great shot to the upper 90 would be the only goal the sailors would need.

The trojans didn’t stop fighting though and their effort and heart should be noticed. Even with 10 seconds left in the game the trojans found themselves with another great shot that flew just over the cross bar. The trojans get back to work next week as they take on FHE on Monday at 6:45pm. Come out and support the trojans.
