Our first ever visit to the Otsego Invitational was interesting. It features a fast course, and between our varsity and junior varsity teams, seven girls earned personal records. Having said this, girls on other teams had personal records as well, and the competition was deep. We saw several of our O.K. Gold competitors, as well as a handful of teams from our region that are very strong. We finished 12th of 19 teams, which is respectable, and the girls worked hard, but I still think we are capable of more. We have a few girls sick and/or injured. Hopefully we’ll get them back soon heading into some key meets down the road.
Our junior varsity team earned 7th place out of 13th. The girls ran well, and as noted above, there were some personal records earned on this course. It was a good day and hopefully their performances inspire them to try to achieve even greater goals. Every race is an exploration of self.
