With regards to the varsity race, as a team, we thought being in the top four was attainable, and the girls did we they had to do to make that happen. Jessica Durkee led the charge once again, while the sister duo of Audrey and Elizabeth Merying battled through the field together. Georgia Kaboos, after have a rough patch, bounced back and ran well for us, nearly matching her personal best. Bree Bonema and Shylin Robirds, both battling respective injuries, held on for the team. Freshman Ainsely Oliver did a great job and was able to get some experience in a varsity race, which was good experience for her. I’m proud of all the girls, and am very pleased with our results.

In the JV race, we beat out Wayland for fifth. Freshman Kendall Snyder was the story of this race because after working relentlessly on the the elliptical machine and the spin bike to work her way back to full strength, she ran in her first race since our first meet, and was only two seconds slower than that race! Also putting together season bests were senior Stephanie Pitsch, and sophomore, Isabelle Finnie.

I think all the girls gave their best effort on the day, and I’m proud of all them.
