The Otsego Bulldog Invitational delivered as advertised. Fast times, flat course, great fan support, and some of the best competition in the area. Many of the runners and teams competing today will compete for All-State Honors and State Titles at the MHSAA State Meet on November 3rd. Our student-athletes ran very strong races and were not intimidated by the other talented runners on the starting line. At the end of the day, 13 runners ran to personal bests in the varsity and jv races. This was our largest race to date with over 130 runners toeing the line. The race started out fast with Otsego and East Grand Rapids runners taking the lead with most of Grand Rapids Christians team a few steps behind. Our plan for the day was to run better as groups and keep communicating with each other throughout the race. The two-lap repeating course allowed runners to better keep track of their position and run to strategic marks on the course. Mount Bulldog was covered with ease but the competition proved very tough. Many runners were very engaged in the race and continued to challenge themselves all the way to the finish. 4 runners and 10 junior varsity runners ran to personal bests.
