Neither team could find much offense in the first half. TK had a lot of open looks, but couldn’t find the bottom of the net. Their defense kept them in the game forcing the Hawkeyes to take difficult shots and finished plays on the defensive end of the floor by cleaning up the boards. Hamilton did not get many 2nd chance opportunities, which was a big factor in the outcome of the game. The Trojans continued to play aggressive defense to start the second half and were able to knock down some shots to stretch a 3 point lead to 12 heading into the final quarter. TK built a 16 point lead in the 4th, but Hamilton clawed back into it with some gritty defense and closed the gap to 3 late in the game. The Trojans made some big free throws in the closing seconds to seal the win.
