Game Recap

Coach David Wood: “At the end of the first half we were pleased with our performance. Our defense and midfield was the most organized it has been this season. After the half we came out cold for the first 15 minutes and GR Christian capitalized and put the game out of reach. I was impressed with the determination of the players throughout, to not give up and fight until the final whistle. The result was not what we wanted, nor expected after first half. We. need to take the positives from the game take them forward.”

Game Recap

It was a gorgeous night for our first home opener against a very good Byron Center team. Thanks to our community for a great show of support once again.

We came out and turned the ball over on our first drive and Byron Center went down and scored quickly. After that we controlled the first half. We played great on offense and defense. We took a 14-6 lead going into halftime. The second half was a different game. Although, our kids played hard, we did not execute on offense and defense as well as we did in the first half. Against, a great team like Byron Center that hurt us. They dominated the second half and took home the victory.

We move to 1-1 on the year and look forward to a great week of preparation for Wayland next week.

Game Recap

It was great to get back to the TK-Hastings rivalry. It’s great for both communities and the crowd on Thursday night proved it. We thank our community for the tremendous support.

The game started off with some challenge as there were no officials assigned to the game so we started about 40 minutes late. Our offense and defense came out strong with our first drive resulting in a TD and then we proceeded to block a punt and scoop and score to go up 14-0. After that the game began to go back and forth and remained tight the rest of the way with numerous lead changes. We had timely offensive and defensive big plays that allowed us to secure the victory. We also had a very smart special teams play late in the fourth quarter that helped us secure the win as well.

It is always great to start the year off with a win, especially in a rivalry game. We have plenty to work on and look forward to a great week of practice to get better.

Game Recap

TK scored 2 goals from Jaime Dios in the first half. Both goals were well placed shots past the East Grand Rapids’ Goalkeeper.

The Trojans played well and possessed the ball throughout the first half of the game. EGR came out aggressive and created several scoring opportunities in the second half, but were unable to score on the Trojans’ Goalkeepers, Justin Niles and Hudson Wright, who combined for a team shutout.

TK had over a week off without any games and worked on improving their possession and finishing in front of net, which proved valuable in this game.

Game Recap

The TK Trojans came out with energy and intensity at the start of the game, allowing an early goal by EGR, but blocking out any further scoring opportunities at halftime. Auston Ruth, goalie, made some amazing saves to keep TK in the game.

After halftime, the Trojans were able to take some shots on goal, but unable to find the back of the net. EGR was able to capitalize and score an additional 4 goals before the end of the game.

Coach David Wood: “We came out very strong in the first half and really pushed hard against a good EGR. The first half performance was intense and we were able to create a few openings. After the half we came out flat which EGR took advantage of and finished chances.”
