South Christian and Thornapple Kellogg football team’s will be hosting a Purple Community game on Oct
. 13, 2017 through the Van Andel Institute.
A Purple Community Event brings 100% Hope. The event is part of the Institute’s Purple Community p
rogram. The Institute’s PurpleCommunity pr ogram brings communities together to raise awareness about cancer, celebrate survivors, honor loved ones who have passed away, and support cancer research.
Each players jersey and cheerleaders T-Shirt will have a name on the back honoring a loved one who has been touched by cancer.
We will be selling purple t~shirts Friday, September 29 at lunch that have been designed for this event. The t~shirts will be for sale for $10 each ($12 for XXL). Let’s fill the stands with the purple t~shirts.
There will be a balloon launch the night of the event. You will be able to give a donation for a purple helium balloon, write the name of a loved one who has been touched by cancer. All of the balloons will be released at the same time. Hoping to fill the sky with purple.
Shirts can be pre-ordered with your $10 purchase by Friday, October 6 at 3 PM.

100% of the proceeds from this event will be donated to further cancer research at the Van Andel Institute, an independent biomedical research and science education organization right here in West Michigan dedicated to probing the genetic, cellular and molecular origins of cancer and working to translate those findings into effective therapies.
