Meet Recap

9/23/17 Muskegon, Oakridge High School Invitational

Yet another hot run, but this time in Muskegon, at the Oakridge Invitational. Grand Rapids Covenant Christian owned the day, but TK pulled together to get the runner-up spot, ahead of Mason County Central, Muskegon Western Michigan Christian, Montague, and Shelby. Junior, Shy Robirds (21:34) did a great job of leading the charge for us today, with a great supporting cast of sophomores Audrey and Elizabeth Meyering, running in close proximity (22:01 and 22:07 respectively). Freshman, Caitlyn Prager stepped up running 5th for us today, doing a wonderful job and running a personal best 23:27, with sophomore, Bree Bonnema battling behind her in 23:50. Freshman, Haven Beyer was also called up to the varsity race, and she ran well in a personal best of 24:32.
I’m proud of the girls for working hard in this oppressive heat we’ve been experiencing. It’s a lot to ask, but they are tough girls and hard workers. Our next meet is next Saturday at the Carson City Invitational, where we hope to have cooler weather.
