Game Recap

With 17 seconds left in the second overtime the trojans chances of becoming the OK Gold champ for the 3rd year in a row was out of the picture. The past two season’s TK finished on the top of the OK Gold and tonight they needed a win to keep it that way. With 17 second’s left in the second OT the score was 1-1 which would mean that TK would finish in second place behind South Christian. A win is what they needed and that is what the trojans got when senior Allexus Barnes scored the go ahead goal with just 16 seconds left in the second OT.

The game started out with TK dominating possession and play getting several opportunities to score and put the game out of reach. Thanks to a great FHE defense the trojans weren’t able to get on the board. But it was FHE who would the net first when a defensive mistake turned the ball over and FHE was able to make the score 1-0.

Even though TK would continue to put shot after shot on FHE’s keeper she continued to make plays and balls seemed to fly just right, just left and even high of the net. But no equalizer came for the trojans going into the half.

In the second half TK changed some things up and kept the ball in FHE’s defensive side. The trojans would get 10 corners on the night and finally at the 20 minute mark Taylor Pratt found Kylie Adams for the equalizer to make the game 1-1.

TK would continue to pressure FHE and saw many good opportunities but nothing would seem to fall. The game would go into double OT.

In the first OT TK continue to put shot after shot on FHE. In total the trojans had 30 shots on the evening but they would not get a goal.

In the second OT TK continued to believe they could win and with 16 seconds left in the game and the OK Gold title on the line senior Alyvia Thorne crossed a ball into the box where Kylie Adams took it out of the air and played it over to Allexus Barnes who scored the game winning goal.

TK finishes the regular season with a record of 15-2-1 and 10-1-1 in the conference. TK will play the first district game at home vs. Gull Lake on Tuesday, May 30th at 6pm. Come out and support the trojans as they face the #5 team in the state.
