Game Recap

The trojans finished up the regular season tonight with a 6-0 win over Hastings. Tonight the trojans honored their 10 seniors for all the hard work and dedication they have put into this program. Those seniors include #1 Aly Miller, #3 Hanna McCrath, #4 Sara Feldpausch, #6 Olivia Lamberg, #7 Makayla King, #8 Cecilie Lund, #10 Holly Hall, #13 Haley Alverson, #15 Hana Alverson & #20 Megan Jonker. These girls have been a huge part of the success this season and look forward to a great run in the tournament.

After honoring the seniors and starting play it didn’t take long for those seniors to take over the game and score some goals. In fact in the first 4 minutes TK already was up 3-0 thanks to some pumped up seniors. The first goal belonged to Holly Hall that was assisted by Makayla King at the 1:37 mark. At the 3:04 mark Holly returned the favor by assisting on Makayla’s goal when she dropped a ball to her and Makayla hit it from about 18 yards out. At the 4:21 mark senior keeper Aly Miller received an assist off a punt that landed to Hall just past the 50 yard line. Hall did the rest to slot her second goal of the game. At the 10:20 mark TK had a free kick about 25 yards out and this time it was a juniors chance to get in the scoring when Taylor Pratt played a perfect ball past the keeper to make it 4-0.

The trojans would see many more opportunities that half but it wasn’t until the 37:24 mark when 2 more seniors hooked up. This time Haley Alverson played a great ball to Olivia Lamber who put it in the back of the net to end the half up 5-0.

The second half would see all the girls getting in the game and each of the seniors being honored by pulling them out of the game at the end. Maddie Hutchins started the subbing when she replaced senior keeper Aly Miller in the goal. Aly has an impressive 91% save percentage this season and only has given up 5 goals all year. The rest of the seniors were honored later in the game when they all were escorted off by subs to get their celebration. Each senior leaves on a high note at TK.

The lone goal in the second half would be Makayla Kings second of the game. This play was some pretty soccer when Alyvia Thorne got deep in the box and dropped a ball back to Taylor Pratt who crossed it to the weak side where Makayla was waiting to head it in to make the final score 6-0. TK travels to Plainwell next week to start district play. The game is Tuesday, May 31st @ 6pm at Plainwell High School.
