Game Recap

The trojans headed to Catholic Central tonight to try and wrap up the conference. With their win last week Thursday they clinched at least a share of the OK Gold but with a win tonight TK could have the title all to themselves. On a very hot evening the trojans came in ready but Catholic’s defense kept them out of the back of the net much of the first half. Their lone goal came off a corner kick from Megan Jonker where she served a great ball into Makayla King who headed it in to make the score 1-0. The rest of the half TK would have several opportunities but Catholic Central’s great defense and goalkeeping kept them out of the net.

The second half would be a different story as TK put a lot of pressure on CC and really possessed the ball well. At the 8:19 mark some fancy footwork from Olivia Lamberg beat a defender and played a great through ball for Alyvia Thorne to make the score 2-0. At the 12:48 mark TK added to the lead when Haley Alverson crossed a ball in the box to Allexus Barnes. Barnes made a great turn and fired a shot in to make it 3-0. The final goal of the night belonged to freshman Anna Morgan when Allexus Barnes won a 50/50 and it found Anna’s feet. Anna used great speed to beat a defender and score her first varsity goal.

The trojans move to 14-1-2 on the season and 9-0 in the conference. TK also posted their 11th shutout of the season. With tonights win TK is now back to back OK Gold conference champs. They finish up the regular season on Wednesday night at home vs. Hastings at 6:45pm.
