Game Recap

The Lady Trojans traveled to East Kentwood for the first round of District Play. In a fast paced game from the start TK battled an athletic and quick Falcon team. ” We knew that they wanted to get the ball into the high-post area where they are very effective. I felt we did a great job in the first half of trying to limit their touches there and when they did get it there we contested quite a few of them. We also knew we couldn’t let their sharp-shooter Alona Blackwell get going and we managed to hold her scoreless. The girls played hard the entire night” East Kentwood held an 11-point lead at the half 32-21. TK managed to cut that lead to seven with an opportunity for more but a few costly turnovers turned the tide back in East Kentwood’s favor. “We played a tough schedule this season. After seeing East Kentwood play and looking at how they did against some of the areas top teams, I thought they were one of the top two or three teams we’ve seen.”
Amiyah Vandergeld led TK with 11 points. Lauren Ricketts finished with 9 points & 9 rebounds. Holly Hall contributed 7 points & Alyvia Thorne tossed in 6. Tayler Moore, Hana Alverson, & Makayla King all finished with 2 apiece.
