Meet Recap

Middleville’s ladies tennis team finished the regular season with an 8-3 record, 3-2 in the O-K Gold going into the conference tournament.

Middleville finished in third place in the O-K Gold conference tennis tournament with 31 points followed by Hastings with 28, Wayland with 16, and GR Ottawa Hills with 8. Grand Rapids Catholic Central and South Christian tied for first with 42 points.

Grace Brown finished 3rd with a win over Wayland 8-5 and South Christian 3-6, 6-0, 6-2.
Lexie Bays finished 5th with a win over Ottawa Hills. Lexie played outstanding tennis against South Christian and Wayland, but came up short in both matches.
Haley Bashore finished 2nd with a win over South Christian 8-3 and Wayland Ottawa Hills 8-0.
Maddy VerHey finished in the runner-up spot with a win over Catholic Central and Wayland.

In doubles no.1 Kari Johnson and Rachael Ranes finished third with a win over Ottawa Hills 8-2, and Hastings 6-0, 6-0
no. 2 Michelle Lindemulder and Alex Wilkinson finished 4th with a win over Ottawa Hills 8-0, but lost to Hastings in a very close match 3-6, 7-6 (0) and 6-2.
no. 3 Amber VanMeter and Abby Wright finished 3rd with a win over Wayland 8-2, and Hastings 7-6 (6), 6-3.
no. 4 Marlee Willshire and Katie Hanshaw finished 2nd defeating Wayland 8-6 and Hastings 6-2, 7-5.
