Meet Recap

Middleville finished 4th of 10 in the regional tournament Friday. Lexie Bays, Maddy VerHey were seeded 4th in singles. Our third ( Abby Wright and Amber VanMeter) and fourth ( Kenzie Kollar and Katie Hanshaw) doubles teams were also seeded fourth. All four held their seeds and advanced to the semifinals where they lost to the number one seeds. Our team performed at a high level overall. We are very proud of the way this team fought for wins on the final day of the 2015 season.

Lexie Bays won her second round match defeating Wayland 6-4, 6-3. It was the second time Lexie has defeated a very good foreign exchange player this season. Lexie continues to become more consistent and is penetrating the court far better than she was at mid season. She continues to become more consistent and has improved her serve.

Maddy VerHey won her second round match over Plainwell 6-0, 6-3. Maddy controlled her opponent from start to finish. Maddy Played some of her best tennis in the semifinals losing to a number one seed.
Third doubles, Amber VanMeter and Abby Wright won a second round match over Unity Christian 6-7 (3), 6-2, 6-4. This team come from down 0-40 in two games and 0-30 in one game of the final set to win all three games and the match.

Fourth doubles, Kenzie Kollar and Katie Hanshaw defeated Wayland 6-0, 6-2 in the second round to advance to the semifinals. This team looked very good in defeating Wayland by a far greater margin that they did in the dual match this season.

First singles, Grace Brown won a hard fought come from behind match over Zeeland West by a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 score before losing to the number one seed.

Third singles player Haley Bashore played some great tennis in a long three set match finally losing to Zeeland West 6-1, 3-6, 6-4.

First doubles, Kari Johnson and Rachael Ranes dominated South Haven 6-0, 6-1 in the first round before losing to the number one seed.

Two doubles, Marlee Willshire and Michelle Lindemulder also dominated South Haven 6-0, 6-0 in the first round before losing to the second seed.
