Meet Recap

Tk’s varsity tennis team defeated South Christian in a very close match at South Christian in a rain delayed match from earlier in the season. South Christian is ranked 10th in the state. The Trojan just missed a tie or win against ninth ranked Forest Hills Eastern two weeks ago.

We had a solid match from our third doubles team. The VanGessel sisters also brought in two solid wins at 3 and 4 singles.

The last two points off the court came from Rachael Ranes and Hayley Bashore which guaranteed us at least a tie with South. The win for this doubles team was the biggest win so far this season. Both Hayley and Rachael were outstanding with solid net play, groundstrokes, and steady serving. This was the best match by this team all season.

The winning fifth point came from Grace Brown with a very good performance at 1st singles.
Grace was so solid in this match. She did a great job of fighting off big shots and keeping he ball alive. She was patient waiting for an offensive opportunity. Great job ladies. A big win for this team. This should help us get some good seeds in the Battle Creek Regional.
