Meet Recap

The girl’s varsity tennis team defeated Hastings 8-0 in straight sets to improve their record to 12-1-1 overall. The team finished the O-K Gold dual portion of the season at 3-1-1. The conference tournament will be held this Saturday at South Christian.

The four singles players only lost 3 games on their way to another singles sweep. Grace Brown, Lexie Bays, and Hayley Bashore didn’t drop a game in the six sets they played. Kayla VanGessel played another great match while improving her record to 16-1

We need to keep improving as a team for the last two weeks while preparing for the conference and regional tournaments. We have plenty of room for improvement. Kari Johnson and Rachael Ranes had another solid performance with a 6-1, 6-2 win. At second doubles, Michelle Lindemulder and Alex Wilkinson also won 6-1, 6-2. The second doubles team is showing good improvement in the volley game, decision making at the net and maintaining better court position.

We have Hudsonville Unity Christian at home Wednesday night.
